ProjectEnhancing transparency and accountability in courts: An assessment of compliance with transparency standards
This report represents the most comprehensive analysis to date of the compliance of Albanian courts with legal standards on transparency and the right to information. It is based on data collected through structured questionnaires from 20 general and special jurisdiction courts, covering four key administrative functions: Information Officers, Public and Media Relations Officers, IT Specialists, and Judicial Statistics Specialists.
The report presents empirical findings on current practices, institutional gaps, and challenges, along with concrete recommendations to strengthen transparency, standardize procedures, and enhance public accountability within the judiciary.
The publication was prepared under the project “Enhancing transparency and accountability in courts: An assessment of compliance with transparency standards”, implemented as part of the “Judiciary under Spotlight” initiative with the financial support of the European Union.
