The New EU Enlargement Strategy: Expectations and RealitiesIn the framework of the project:

CSDG Executive Director was part of the panel discussion on “The New EU Enlargement Strategy: Expectations and Realities”, organized by the EU Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) and supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Albania. During the event, the main topics addressed were focused on the current situation of the Western Balkans, conditions for EU membership, expectations as well as factors that could hamper the EU membership of the region.

Mr. Dyrmishi pointed out the issues addressed in the new enlargement strategy for each of the six Western Balkan countries and also draw attention to the cooperation at all levels between the Balkan states, the European Commission and the European Union member states. In the case of Albania’s integration process, he emphasized the importance of the political factor and the concrete engagement of all political actors involved in this important process.
