This sixth issue of SPAK Monitor describes the process of promotion and appointment of the first 8 prosecutors at the Special Prosecution Office against corruption and organized crime.

This issue focuses also on the application process announced for the position of Chief Special Prosecutor, the position of Director and the investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Meantime, while the simultaneous establishment of the Special Courts and Special Prosecution Office against corruption and organized crime constitutes one of the most important phases, this number of SPAK Monitor describes the measures taken by the Serious Crimes Court and the Serious Crimes Prosecution Office (First Instance and Appeal) with regard to the files to be transferred to the new institutions against corruption and organized crime.

The pace of the transitional re-evaluation of the candidates for appointment to the Special Courts, and the Special Prosecution Office is also an essential component to address the issues arising from the insufficient number of judges and prosecutors, since the results of the decisions made for them will determine the number of vacancies in the new anti-corruption institutions.
