Roundtable Discussion “The Administrative Approach in Fighting Organized Crime: Exploring the Possibility of its Implementation in Albania”In the framework of the project:

The Center for the Study of Democracy and Governance with the support from Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation Tirana Office, organized the Roundtable Discussion “The Administrative Approach in Fighting Organized Crime: Exploring the Possibility of its Implementation in Albania”.

Participants from government institutions, civil society and media were introduced to the administrative approach concept and practice, which has been increasingly applied in many western countries over the last 2-3 decades and more recently has been adopted by the European Union as a policy tool. The participants elaborated during the discussion the ways, means, challenges and benefits of its implementation in Albania.

Through a policy paper, the Center for the Study of Democracy and Governance assesses the possibility and recommends the adoption of an administrative approach to fighting organized crime, as a separate policy but combined with other approaches to be used as a tool in the combined government and societal efforts to combat organised crime and improve security.
