The Center for the Study of Democracy and Governance (CSDG) presented the main findings of the Second Monitoring Report on “The Appointment of Judges to the Special Courts Against Corruption and Organized Crime and the Selection Process of Prosecutors at the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime”.

The Roundtable was organized in cooperation with the Institute for Political Studies with the support of the Open Society Foundation for Albania (OSFA), in the framework of the project “Strengthen public information and participation in the implementation of judicial reform through monitoring, evaluation and communication of the establishment and functioning of the institutions to combat corruption and organized crime”.

The establishment of the competences of the High Judicial Council (KLGJ) and High Prosecutorial Council (KLP) toward the establishment of the Special Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Structure and the Special Courts Against Corruption and Organized Crime” compose the main objectives of the justice reform in Albania. For this reason, the need for institutional co-ordination, well-informed and transparency on the progress of the establishment of the new anti-corruption institutions remains a very important component.

During the Roundtable was discussed with speakers, international representatives and experts on the progress of the establishment’s process of the Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Courts and SPAK.
